Any theme you can imagine
Generate a custom theme in one pass, or design it page by page: any layout, post grids and archives built from your own content, animation where you want it.
Run them all from one account. Each site is separate, and stays live even after you move on to the next.
If one site pays your bills, one algorithm update can take the income away. Big publishers spread that risk across many sites of their own. Until now, doing the same cost a solo creator too much money and too much time.
Serious publishers have always split brands, audiences and offers across several sites. Here’s how people do it on SMZD.
Give a subtopic its own home, its own domain and its own audience, so going deep doesn’t dilute your main site.
Bundle several publications under one subscription. Readers pay once and read everything.
Give each brand its own domain, design and editorial voice, run independently from one account.
Eight towns, eight local news sites, one account and one bill.
Launch them all. The one that gets traction gets your attention; pause the CMS on the rest and their sites stay online.
Run reviews, comparisons and niche affiliate sites, each standing alone, so one update can’t wipe out all your income.
Owning a real portfolio used to mean an agency or a team — a closed door for all but the 1%. SMZD takes the door off.

What you get with every site on SMZD.
Generate a custom theme in one pass, or design it page by page: any layout, post grids and archives built from your own content, animation where you want it.
Booking forms, directories, calculators, member areas. We build the feature for your site on request, for a one-time price with no yearly licence, and whatever it collects is stored in your own database.
Lock any post or section to paying members. Sell a subscription per site, or one subscription that opens ten of your sites. Subscribers stay in your own lists, and SMZD takes no cut.
Rank tracking, backlink monitoring, competitor research and AI visibility for every site you run. You can drop the separate SEO subscription.

psst… three of these are yours.
nobody else can tell which.
Portfolio hosting usually leaves a trail: one server, one IP address, every site sitting on it. SMZD sites have no server of their own. They’re delivered by the same CDN as millions of unrelated sites, so from the outside your portfolio is just part of the crowd.

Each paid plan includes the same 1,000 credits of AI usage per period, with an adjustable AI limit. A $10 top-up adds 1,000 prepaid credits. Prepaid first reserves your next base renewal; extras use prepaid, and AI uses what remains after its included allowance. Unpaid extras have 48 hours to top up before they freeze. Founding subscribers keep their price with the same tier benefits.
From $999/mo — SAML/SSO, data sovereignty, advanced permissions, procurement, security review, custom contracts, and dedicated support.
Your domains, your content and your readers belong to you.
You bring your own domains and they stay registered to you. Point them anywhere, any time.
Download any post as Word, PDF, Markdown or a web page, and export each site’s members, subscribers and form entries whenever you want them. Your sites stay online while your account is paid up.
Coming from WordPress or another platform? Your URLs, redirects, canonical tags and sitemaps come with you, so the pages that rank today keep ranking.
A $10 top-up buys 1,000 prepaid credits. Prepaid first is on by default and reserves up to the next base subscription price before extras or AI can use that balance. For example, $200 on Base with two extras reserves $49 for the base, leaves $0 due on card, then pays $30 for extras at renewal, leaving $121. You can turn prepaid first off to release the base hold.
Extra CMSes have a 48-hour grace period. A sufficient top-up during that period pays the whole extras cohort. If it expires unpaid, those extras freeze; included CMSes are unaffected. Extras never charge your card automatically.
No. Each paid period includes 1,000 credits of AI usage, consumed before prepaid. Your AI limit starts at 1,000 credits and is adjustable. Raising it adds no money; topping up does not raise it. A limit of zero pauses AI without affecting hosting.
Open the billing portal to update your card and retry the payment. Polar handles payment retries. If the subscription is revoked after failed retries, the account’s CMSes freeze. The separate 48-hour grace period applies only to prepaid extras.
Your sites stay online as long as your account is active. When you cancel, they go offline. Before you go, export everything: posts, pages, members and subscriber lists.
Upgrade anytime. Each plan includes a number of active CMSes, and you can add more from prepaid credits: $15 a month on Base, $12 on Pro or $8 on Business. A CMS added mid-period costs only the days left until billing day. Pause the CMS on a site you’re not working on and it stops counting, while the site stays published.
WordPress needs separate hosting, plugins, maintenance and invoices for every site. SMZD runs all of your sites from one account and one bill, with nothing to patch and SEO tools built in.
The site stays online and indexed, exactly as you last published it. Editing and newsletters stop until you turn the CMS back on, and nothing is lost in between.
No, but every plan comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee. If SMZD isn’t for you, ask for a full refund.
No. Your memberships, newsletter subscriptions and ad revenue are 100% yours. SMZD is paid by your plan, never by a share of your income.
You can, but sites grow on pages people want to read. SMZD’s AI does the work around your writing: keyword research, competitor pages, briefs and first drafts. You bring what you know.
No. Mass-produced spam sites violate our fair use policy and will be removed. SMZD is built for publishers who create real properties with helpful content that people and search engines both value. As for how many strong sites you can run — the only limit is your ambition.
Migrations preserve your URLs, redirects, canonical tags, and sitemap structure. Domain authority and indexed pages transfer cleanly. We do not break what you have already built.
Start with one site or bring the whole pile. Everything you publish stays up while you work on the next one.
